Our world is in crisis

The problems are real, documented, and accelerating. The conventional financial system has no answer for any of them.

$348 trillion
Global debt — and rising
$44,000 for every person on Earth. Growing by $29 trillion every year. Every dollar created as interest-bearing debt by a private bank. There is no plan to reduce it.
$13 trillion
Interest payments per year
Governments, businesses and households pay $13 trillion annually just in interest — money transferred from the productive economy to the financial sector. That is 13% of world GDP consumed by the cost of having money.
$4.5 trillion
Climate funding gap
The UN estimates $4.5 trillion per year is needed to reach net zero. Governments say they cannot afford it. But $13 trillion per year goes to banks in interest without question.
1% own 48%
Wealth concentration
The richest 1% own 48% of all global wealth. The bottom 50% own less than 1%. The gap widens every year, driven by compound interest — a product of the debt-based money system.
300 million
Jobs at risk from AI
Goldman Sachs estimates 300 million jobs will be displaced by AI. In a system where survival depends on paid employment, and employment depends on growth funded by debt, what happens when the jobs disappear?
Austerity
No money for vital services
Healthcare, education, infrastructure, social care — chronically underfunded. Not because resources don't exist, but because the money to pay for them is created as debt, and the debt has become unserviceable.
Despair
The rise of populism
When people cannot afford housing, healthcare, or a future for their children, they turn to anyone who promises change — however destructive. The financial system's failure is fuelling political extremism worldwide.
Zero
Plans to fix any of this
No government, no central bank, no international body has a credible plan to reduce global debt, fund climate action, reverse wealth concentration, or replace the jobs AI will eliminate. The system is working exactly as designed — for the people who designed it.
Hopelessness
Democracy captured by wealth
Politicians are funded by billionaires. Media is owned by billionaires. Economic policy is written by economists trained to serve the financial sector. The people who could change the system are the people who profit from it. And so nothing changes — and hope dies.

Imagine a better world

Not a utopia. Not a revolution. Just a different accounting system — one where human time, not bank-created money, is the unit of exchange.

🌱
Start with nothing. Live well.
Everyone begins at zero. You earn by helping others — cooking, teaching, caring, building. No capital required. No credit check. No bank. Just human cooperation, recorded and balanced automatically.
❤️
Care has value
Raising children, nursing the elderly, comforting a friend — all invisible to GDP. In the ⊙ economy, every minute of care is recorded. The carer's contribution is finally counted.
🤖
AI takes the jobs. You keep the life.
When robots do the production, the old economy collapses. The ⊙ economy doesn't care who does the producing. It measures human contribution — and there is always more to contribute.
🌳
Climate action becomes affordable
If you measure value in human time instead of bank debt, the $4.5 trillion climate gap vanishes. People plant trees, insulate homes, restore ecosystems — and earn ⊙ for the time they spend doing it.
🐾
Animal welfare becomes visible
A factory farm registers 0.0002⊙ per chicken per day. A free-range farm registers 3⊙. For the first time, the difference between exploitation and care is arithmetic, not opinion.
🏛️
GDP is replaced by something real
GDP counts weapons production and financial speculation. The ⊙ economy counts cooking, teaching, healing, building, caring. A society's true output — measured in minutes of human attention given to others.
🕊️
Debt disappears. Periodically.
The Jubilee — the oldest economic institution in civilisation. Every equinox, every full moon, or whenever the community decides: all obligations settle to zero. No money changes hands. The arithmetic guarantees it.
🌍
No billionaires. No poverty.
You cannot inherit, invest, or leverage ⊙. You can only earn it by giving your time to others. The nurse earns more than the hedge fund manager. Wealth concentration becomes structurally impossible.
🎯
The 17 Sustainable Development Goals — achieved
No poverty. Zero hunger. Good health. Quality education. Clean water. The UN's 17 goals have been stalled for years because “there is no money.” In the ⊙ economy, the only resource is human time — and there are 5 trillion minutes of it available every day.
